Become a PADI Professional

There are many reasons to become a PADI® Divemaster or Scuba Instructor: to work and travel, to share your love of the underwater world with others, or simply for the personal challenge.

Where do I start ?

The first step to becoming a PADI Professional is to enroll in a Divemaster course. Divemaster is PADI’s most popular professional-level certification. As a Divemaster you will supervise scuba diving activities and assist with scuba classes. It is the first step in your diving career.

You will need to be a Rescue Diver with 40 logged dives to start your Divemaster Course. Here at Cornish Diving we offer flexible Divemaster Internships starting from just £200.00 !

Instructor Courses?

If you like people, have a passion for scuba diving and want an extraordinary life - become a PADI Instructor. Teaching scuba diving allows you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy - being in, around and under water.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors and PADI Assistant Instructors are the most sought-after dive professionals around the world because they've completed the program that sets the standard for training dive professionals.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is made up of two parts - the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. Most dive professionals complete the entire IDC and go on to attend an Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to earn a PADI Instructor certification.

You will need at least 60 logged dives to begin your Instructor course, you will also need to be an Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor with at least 100 logged dives to attend your Instructor Examination (IE).
